How to manage kiosks over the local network?

Step 1 - Setup kiosks

Share InfoTouch installation folders on all kiosks and add them into InfoTouch LAN Configuration installed on the admin PC. Setup instructions are HERE.

Step 2 - Choose the configuration option

Choose one of the following configuration options:

  1. Manual
  2. Import from file
  3. Import from kiosk

Note: Several options e.g. kiosk mode setting (General option) and system settings (Watchdog option) are not configurable remotely. These settings can only be configured locally on the kiosk.

Manual configuration

You can create the settings manually using all options available in InfoTouch LAN Configurator (similar as you are using the kiosk configuration tool).

Note: All of uploaded files (e.g. images, documents) should be placed in the subdirectory user located in the directory where InfoTouch Software was installed. You can click the User folder icon on the top toolbar and put the files in this folder.


Configuration import

Click the Import icon on the top toolbar to import settings from a file.

Import from file

Perform the following steps in the LAN Configurator - import window:

  • Select Import from file as the import source
  • Click the Browser icon to select your archive file ITARCH
  • Click the Import button

Note: Before the import you can decide if you want to delete the files in the application directories

Import from kiosk

Perform the following steps in the LAN Configurator - import window:

  • Select the Import from kiosk option as the import source
  • Select the kiosk from dropdown list
  • Click the Import button

Note: Ensure that InfoTouch is running on the kiosk before the import.

Step 3 - Save settings

Click the Save icon on the top toolbar.


Step 4 - Configuration export

You can export settings to an archive file (InfoTouch Archive *.itarch) or directly to the one kiosk, several or all kiosks at the same time.
To export settings you should click the Export icon on the top toolbar and and perform the following steps.

Export to file

Perform the following steps in LAN Configurator - export window:

  • Select the Export to file target
  • Click the Browser icon and enter the target archive file name and location
  • Click the Import button

Perform the following steps in the LAN Configurator - export window:

  • Select the Export settings for kiosks in the LAN target
  • Select one, a subset or all kiosks as export targets
  • Select additional options
    • include files from user's folder
    • display reboot message
    • message display time
  • Click the Export button

Note: Ensure that InfoTouch is running on the kiosk before the export.
